Paul Gubbels
Shortly after graduating
from Lawrence University, Paul met up with Pete Strandwitiz, a
businessman rich in ideas but short of cash.
One of the company's first significant contracts was with Bally, the company generally credited with developing the first video game, Pac Man. Headquartered in a small, drafty building in Menasha, Paul helped the company through its early years performing sales and purchasing functions. But most of Paul's duties revolved around scrounging cash to pay the electric bill and holding creditors at bay until the next Bally check arrived. The company prospered and grew and, of course, we know it today as Plexus Corp.
Over the next two decades, Paul negotiated manufacturing contracts with customers around the world - customers like IBM, GM, Honeywell, GE and dozens of other "big league" players.
Plexus grew to be a $1 billion, NASDQ listed company. For Paul, the task of helping to build something from the ground up changed to one of managing and coordinating multi-million dollar manufacturing contracts. He and Plexus had come a long way from that drafty Menasha building. He shared the pride of helping to create the company. But somehow the task of negotiating and coordinating major contracts with world-class companies just didn't pack the adrenaline punch of the early days. In 2001, Paul cashed in his chips and joined the Meerdink team. Today Paul is sharing his business knowledge, insights and negotiating skills with clients who have special real estate needs. If you own property that others couldn't sell or lease for you, call Paul. You will find him to stand head and shoulders above the rest. |
